Kendrik Caldwell sits in 12th-place after Day 1 of the heptathlon at the NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships inside the Mount Marty Fieldhouse.
Caldwell scored 2,527 points through four events - 138 points out of contention for All-America status.
The Coyote started the day with a 7.47 second effort in the 60-meter dash and followed it up with an eighth-place finish in the long jump (6.30 meters / 20-feet, 8-inches). He added a mark of 10.66 meters (34-feet, 11-inches) in the shot put and closed the day by clearing 1.80 meters (5-feet, 11-inches) in the high jump.
Day 2 of the heptathlon begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. (CST), with C of I throwers
