Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Late Rally Not Enough as Yotes Fall at Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A 12-0 run late in the second half got The College of Idaho back in the game, but Oregon Tech made 10-of-13 free throws down the stretch to topple the Yotes, 83-68, at Danny Miles Court.

The win for the Owls (5-5, 2-0 CCC) ended a C of I 21-game Cascade Conference win streak – dating back to a Coyote loss on the same floor to end the 2018-19 regular-season.

OIT made 62-percent of their field goals in the first half, blitzing the No. 15-ranked Yotes (7-3, 1-1) from the outside, taking a 45-28 lead to the break. The margin would grow to as many as 23-points with the hosts taking a 68-46 lead with just under eight minutes remaining.

C of I would hold Tech without a made field goal for a four minute stretch – as Drew Wyman started the run with a 3-pointer and Ricardo Time capped the rally with a trey of his own, cutting the deficit to 68-58 with just over four minutes remaining. Unfortunately, OIT held the Yotes to just one made field goal over the next three minutes, pulling away for the win.

Wyman led C of I with 13 points and five rebounds, with Tyler Robinett posting 11 points. Both Charles Elzie and Jake O'Neil scored nine.

Kaison Faust led OIT with 14 points, as the Owls made 54-percent of their field goals on the night, outscoring C of I 17-8 from the foul line and holding a 43-28 rebound edge.

The Coyotes return to action tomorrow afternoon with a 5 p.m. (PT) match-up at Southern Oregon.
