Yotes Roll Past Raiders in 66-49 Road Win

ASHLAND, Ore. – A 13-0 run towards the end of the first half built a comfortable cushion for No. 15 College of Idaho in a 66-49 win at Southern Oregon on Saturday night in the Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Leading 21-20 with 7:37 remaining in the first half, the Yotes (8-3, 2-1 CCC) would rattle off 13 straight points over the next seven minutes, starting with a Tyler Robinett layup in the paint and ending with back-to-back triples by Charles Elzie.

C of I would go on to lead by as many as 19 in the second half, as the Raiders (4-7, 1-2 CCC) were never able to get the lead back down to single-digits.

By limiting SOU to 49 points, the Yotes allowed the fewest points to an opponent in a game for the program since March 11, 2020 in a 67-49 win over Northwestern in the national tournament.

Freshman Drew Wyman had eight of the first 11 points for C of I in the win. He would go on to finish with a team-high 14 points, four rebounds and four assists while going 5-for-10 from the floor.

Jake O'Neil had a strong effort of his own off the bench, tallying 12 points while leading the way with nine boards.

The Yotes went 25-for-60 (42 percent) from the field and outrebounded the Raiders 44-37 while leading for all but 45 seconds of the game.

C of I finished the night with a 34-17 edge in bench points and a 34-12 advantage in points in the paint.

This is the fifth time this season that the Yotes have held an opponent to 60 or fewer points.

By knocking off SOU, the Yotes won their fourth straight in the head-to-head series.

Next up for C of I is an exhibition on Tuesday at rival Northwest Nazarene for the second meeting of the year between the two sides.
