KIRKLAND, Wash. - A Gian Hererra goal in the 26th minute by Northwest is the lone goal of the match in a 1-0 loss to the College of Idaho at NU Soccer Field Saturday afternoon.
The Yotes (9-5-1, 7-5-1 CCC) were held in check in the first half as Northwest had five shots in the first 15 minutes of action.
11 minutes later, the Eagles (10-6-2, 6-5-2 CCC) opened up the scoring with a cross by Noah Prophet that found Hererra's head at the edge of the 6-yard line to put the home side up 1-0.
C of I looked to tie the game early in the second half with a
Kristian Quiros shot in the 46th minute that was saved by Northwest goalkeeper Alexander Thiehofe.
With a 9-4 shot advantage in the second half, C of I's best chance to score was in the 76th minute with a 20-yard rocket from
Joao Bastos that was saved by an outstretched Thiehofe to hold on to the victory.

Drew Morris had three saves in the match while Northwest's Thiehofe had four saves to secure the shutout.
In a game with muddy field conditions, both sides had 14 shots each while C of I led 8-6 in corner kicks.
The Yotes will have next week off before traveling to the Cascade Conference Championships in Springfield, Ore. on Nov. 9-12. Opponent and time TBD.
