Women's Soccer Announces 2020 Schedule

CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho women's soccer head coach Brian Smith recently announced the schedule for the 2020 fall season.

The Yotes went 7-6-4 overall and 6-4-2 in the Cascade Conference last season and return 25 players.
 
With a strong nucleus in place, C of I will begin the campaign with an exhibition contest at Simplot Stadium against rival Northwest Nazarene on Aug. 22.
 
The 2020 season officially gets underway on Aug. 28 at NCAA Division I program Southern Utah, which is led by first year head coach Kai Edwards. It is the first ever pairing between the Yotes and Thunderbirds.
 
Remaining in Utah, the Yotes then travel to Salt Lake City to play at Westminster on Aug. 30. The meeting will be the eighth in the all-time series between the two programs, with the Griffins holding a 4-2-1 series edge.
 
Following the trip to Utah, C of I heads to Oregon on Sept. 5-6 for matches at Linfield and Pacific, before rounding out the non-conference slate the following weekend with a neutral site meeting in Walla Walla against Whitworth on Sept. 12 and a clash at Whitman on Sept. 13.
 
Conference play begins on Sept. 19 at Multnomah, with a Sept. 20 contest at Warner Pacific concluding a stretch of eight consecutive matches on the road.
 
The Yotes take on Northwest in the official home opener on Sept. 25 in a rematch of a thriller from a year ago in which C of I upended the Eagles, who were previously unbeaten in CCC play. In that 2-1 win, Brooklyn Ruwe scored the golden goal in the 100th minute. The Yotes host Evergreen on Sept. 27 to round out the opening weekend at home.
 
After spending the vast majority of August and September on the road, C of I starts October away from home at Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech on Oct. 2-3, but then will remain home for five of the final six contests of the regular season, starting with a home date with Rocky Mountain on Oct. 11.
 
Rival Eastern Oregon hosts the Yotes on Oct. 16 before the final stretch of four consecutive home matches at Simplot Stadium begins on Oct. 23 against Carroll. Providence comes to Caldwell on Oct. 25, followed by Corban on Oct. 30 and Bushnell on Nov. 1 to cap off the regular season.
 
The CCC Championships are slated for Nov. 10-13 in Springfield, Ore.
