NAMPA, Idaho –
Kiersten Lancaster finished fifth in the final of the 60-meter hurdles, hitting the NAIA automatic qualifying mark, highlighting the College of Idaho women's track and field action on Day 2 of the Jackson's Invitational.
The junior improved on her mark from yesterday's preliminary heats, recording a time of 8.99 seconds – one hundredth of a second ahead of the national cut.
The Coyote 4x400-meter relay team also had a great day, taking third in their heat with a time of 3:59.52. However, the team of
Madison Glascock,
Payton Durocher,
Abbey Shirts and
Kami Hawkins were on the wrong end of the banked-to-flat track conversion, with the "A" mark on time converted beyond a provisional NAIA mark.
C of I got a great effort from
Morgan Harrison in the high jump, recording a season-best clearance of 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1.5 inches).
On the track,
Roby Young had the top 400-meter time (1:00.38);
Madison Kingsbury won her section of the mile (5:28.07), with
Lilly Whitehead placing third in the 3,000-meters (10:40.19).
Tomorrow, three C of I women's runners will compete at the University of Portland Open.
