CORVALLIS, Ore. - College of Idaho's
Stephen Campbell was honored as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office.
The sophomore, from Apple Valley, Utah, placed second out of 42 competitors in the shot put at Saturday's Boise State Team Challenge, becoming the first C of I men's athlete to hit an NAIA automatic qualifying mark in the indoor shot put.
Campbell broke his own school record with a throw of 15.92 meters (52 feet, 4.75 inches) - the No. 10 mark in the NAIA this winter.
The Yotes are off until the NAIA Indoor National Championships, March 5-7, in Brookings, S.D.
