Coyote Track Wins Three CCC Weekly Awards

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Three College of Idaho athletes were honored today as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Track and Field weekly award winners, announced today by the league office.

C of I men swept the weekly honors - as Kendrik Caldwell earned Track Athlete of the Week and Kristopher Kostelecky was named Field Athlete of the Week. In addition, Catylynn Duff was honored as Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Caldwell placed fourth overall in the heptathlon at the Mountain State Games in Pocatello - scoring a career-high 4,563 points, hitting the NAIA "A" standard. The sophomore clocked personal-best times in the sprints - winning the 60-meters (7.32 seconds) and adding a mark of 9.00 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. He also had personal best field event marks of 10.64 meters in the shot put and 3.63 meters in the pole vault.

Kostelecky broke the C of I indoor school record in the high jump at the Jackson's Invitational in Nampa - tying for the title with a mark of 2.06 meters (6 feet, 9 inches) . The senior hit the NAIA "A" standard, equaling the all-time mark set outdoors by Austin Basterrechea in 2013.

Duff broke her own school record in the weight throw, placing second overall in Nampa with a mark of 16.35 meters (53-feet, 7-inches), as the sophomore improved her own NAIA "A" mark.

C of I closes out the indoor regular-season this weekend at the Boise State Team Challenge in Nampa.
