C of I Breaks All-Time Scholar-Athlete Award Record

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - College of Idaho athletics teams capped a record-setting year in the classroom with 25 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award recipients for the spring season, announced today by the national office.

That total, added to the award recipients in the fall and winter seasons, pushed the overall total to 62 - the highest total of scholar-athletes for a single academic year in school history - surpassing the mark of 54 established in 2017-18.

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must be a junior in academic standing and maintain a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Earning the award were:

Women's Track: Maddie Brown, Abigail Craig, Kathryn Craig, Kabre Madrigal, Khiriona Phillips-Brown, Molly Vitale-Sullivan, Lilly Whitehead

Men's Track: Marcos Cervantes, Kristopher Kostelecky, Alex Martin, Gavin McCaw, Matt McLaughlin, Tyler Truksa

Baseball: Jake Bowman, Niall Manning, Dalton Strong, Dylan Mansanarez

Women's Tennis: Natalie Little, Taylor Little, Melissa O'Berto

Softball: Emily Aspden, Delaney Atkins

Men's Golf: Michael Piazzini

Women's Golf: Annika Thomas

Lacrosse: Daniel Hernandez
