GULF SHORES, Ala. –
Larissa Mauer capped an outstanding freshman season with a bronze medal performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, helping the College of Idaho to a Top-30 finish at the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.
Mauer jumped from seventh position to third over the final 1,600-meters, finishing in a time of 11:03.16 – helping the Coyotes finish with 11 team points – good enough for 28th-place.
Teammate
Tamika Russell finished 11th in the event in her final collegiate race (11:34.78).
In the throws,
Catylynn Duff placed 16th overall in the discus (39.91 meters), while
Kaitlyn Schut competed in the marathon, but had to withdraw late in the 26.2 mile race.
