LA GRANDE, Ore. - A wild day that included two lengthy weather delays ended with Kendrik Caldwell earning the bronze medal, one of four College of Idaho athletes scoring points in the decathlon at the conclusion of the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships.

Caldwell improved his personal best mark in the event by over 300 points, finishing with 5,994 points - third to the Corban duo of Michael Schmidt (6,763) and Reagan Shira (6,465). The freshman recorded personal best marks in each of the final three events - the pole vault (3.65 meters), the javelin (36.42 meters) and the 1,500-meters (4:38.50), earning six team points for next month's CCC Championships.

Teammate Nate Griswold earned four team points with his fifth-place finish (5,737) - placing third in today's 1,500-meters (4:38.30) - with Matt McLaughlin in a tie for sixth (5,566) after taking second in the 1,500-meters (4:30.90) and logging a PR in the pole vault (3.85 meters).Caleb Brown took eighth (5,388) - earning the Yotes one team point - taking third in the discus (34.36).

Day 2 took over nine hours to complete the final five events - as a lightning delay following the pole vault halted action for 90 minutes, with a second weather delay stopping the javelin competition midway through the second round of attempts.
