Berryhill Named to Academic All-District 4 Team

DALLAS, Texas - College of Idaho guard Gibson Berryhill was one of six players selected to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic NAIA All-District 4 Men's Basketball Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Berryhill becomes the first C of I men's basketball player to earn first-team Academic All-District honors in program history. Former guard, Steve Peres, was a second-team College Division selection in 2011.

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or key reserve on their respective team and also be involved in community service activities. He was selected among all NAIA schools in District 4 - encompassing Arizona, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Washington and British Columbia.

Berryhill, a senior from Boise, is averaging 11 points per game, while making 44-percent of his 3-point field goal attempts - ranking him among the Top-10 in the Cascade Conference. The business major is the ASCI Program Council director and has been involved in BACON for Hope - a fundraiser to build a new outdoor basketball court at the Hope House in Marsing.

He is now one of 22 student-athletes eligible for the Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-America team, which will be released in March.

2018-19 Google Cloud Academic NAIA All-District 4 Men's Basketball Team - Gibson Berryhill (Senior, College of Idaho); Tristen Holmes (Junior, Southern Oregon); Joel Johnson (Senior, Corban); Jordan May (Sophomore, Eastern Oregon); Jeremiah Testa (Junior, Menlo); Matt Wyman (Senior, Carroll).
