Maya Murphy hit a pair of NAIA "A" standards and helped two College of Idaho relay teams punch their ticket to Nationals, as the College of Idaho wiomen's swimming and diving team opened the 2019-20 with a home dual with the University of Idaho inside the J.A. Albertson Aquatics Center.

The Division I Vandals earned a 191-46 victory, but quality marks throughout the 13-event program were key for the Coyotes.
Murphy opened her sophomore season with a pair of huge efforts - earning a nearly two-second win in the 100-yard freestyle (54.62), while taking an extremely close second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.56). She swam the lead leg in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.15) that hit the NAIA "A" cut and was the anchor for the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:50.86), also hitting the auto qualifying mark.
Caroline Yannelli finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.48), meeting the NAIA "A" standard, while a "B" cut with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:19.77).
Freshman
Maddison Rice recorded two "B" standards - placing third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.35) and fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.94). Teammate
Anna Cook placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.21) - also meeting the "B" cut.
U of I was paced by Aimee Iwamoto, who won both the 200-yard IM (2:12.35) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.71).
The Coyotes will return to action in two weeks - competing in dual meets at UC-Santa Cruz and at the Bay Area Invitational.
