Lady Yotes Show Improvement at Ed Jacoby Invite

NAMPA, Idaho - College of Idaho women's track and field athletes showed improvement across the board, competing in the two-day Ed Jacoby Invitational inside the Ford Idaho Center's Jackson's Track.

On the track, Kiersten Lancaster shaved three-tenths of a second off her season-best 60-meter hurdle time, narrowly missing the finals with her time of 9.37 seconds.

In the sprints, Payge Durocher had a solid day, recording times of 8.34 seconds in the 60-meters and 26.76 in the 200-meters.

C of I also had two Distance Medley Relay teams compete - with Larissa Mauer, Payton Anderson, Payton Durocher and Tamika Russell clocking the top time of the duo (12:56.40).

In the throws, Catylynn Duff continued her assault on a possible national mark in the 20-pound weight throw, blowing past the 50-foot mark with a heave of 15.45 meters (50-8 1/4) - the fourth-best mark in program history and less than 35 centimeters from the NAIA "B" cut.

Kabre Madrigal had the top shot put mark among the nine C of I competitors (11.78 meters / 38-7 3/4), while adding a personal best mark of 13.77 meters in the weight throw.

C of I will take next week off, preparing for the Jackson's Invitational on Feb. 1-2.
