LA GRANDE, Ore. – The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon combined for 41 shots on the night, but neither team could find the net in a 0-0 draw at Community Stadium.
The Coyotes (1-3-2, 0-3-1 CCC) picked up their first point in the Cascade Conference table – but failed to score for the fourth-straight game. It was C of I's first scoreless draw since the 2011 season (span of 112 matches) and their 11th 0-0 score in program history.
C of I held a slim 21-20 edge in shots – including a 17-16 margin in regulation, with both teams taking four shots in extra time. The Yotes put seven shots on frame, with Mountaineers (5-2-2, 3-1-1 CCC) keeper Aidan Wright stopping each attempt in the shutout.
The physical match featured 42 fouls, five cautions and one ejection – with EOU recording 25 fouls alone.
Parker Billings was up to the task for the Coyotes, turning aside just three shots for the shutout. Both
Jack O'Leary and
Ben Bechor led C of I with four shot attempts on the night.
C of I will take the next two days off, preparing for a Sunday afternoon match at Walla Walla.
