TACOMA, Wash. –
V.J. Dahm made saves on 22-of-23 shots – holding Puget Sound without a goal for the final 56 minutes of the match, as the College of Idaho cruised to a 16-1 victory at East Field.
NIch Guzzetti scored eight goals and
Dillon Green added four more for the Yotes (3-0) – who finished perfect against the PNCLL North Division in crossover play.
Tied 1-1 early in the first quarter, Green gave C of I the lead for good with an unassisted tally, while using a nifty pass to find
Aaron Canode for a goal and a 3-1 lead. While Dahm kept the Loggers (0-5) at bay, Guzzetti dominated the second quarter, scoring four unassisted goals, while adding two counters in a nine second stretch of the third quarter to extend the lead to 11-1.
C of I returns home next weekend for a triangular – hosting Weber State on Friday and Pacific Lutheran on Sunday – with WSU and PLU meeting on Saturday.
