SPOKANE, Wash. – Going toe-to-toe with the defending NCAA Division I national runner-up, the College of Idaho made 11 3-point baskets in a 96-67 exhibition loss at Gonzaga University before a sellout crowd of 6,000 fans inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Killian Tillie was a perfect 11-of-11 from the field, including three 3-pointers, scoring a game-high 28 points for the Bulldogs, ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP Top-25 Coaches' Poll.
The Yotes hung around early, as a
Nate Bruneel lay-up five minutes into the contest pulled C of I within 8-5. The Zags scored the next nine – including a Tillie triple – to extend the lead to double-digits and took a 46-31 lead to the break.
C of I got within 49-36 on a triple from
Talon Pinckney, but GU scored 15 of the next 16 points to pull away.
Five Gonzaga players scored in double-figures, as Johnathan Williams had 18, Zach Norvell had 17, Jacob Larsen scored 12 and Corey Kispert 10. The Bulldogs made 56-percent of their field goal tries in the win.
Twelve of the 13 C of I players in uniform scored in the contest – with
Aziz Leeks leading the team with 11 points and seven rebounds, with
Tanner Kramer coming off the bench to drain three 3-pointers, scoring 10 points. Pinckney had nine points and five assists, with
Keun Palu-Thompson,
Gibson Berryhill and Bruneel all scoring seven.
The Yotes return to action next Friday night, traveling to Montana Western for a 7 p.m. tip.
