HELENA, Mont. – Kyle Thomson scored a pair of second half goals, as Carroll College ended a three-match home losing streak with a 4-0 victory over the College of Idaho at Nelson Stadium.
The Saints (6-5, 4-4) used a commanding 21-6 edge in total shots to earn the win – peppering the C of I goal with 12 attempts on frame.
Carroll opened the scoring in the 18th minute, as Riley Prescott lofted a 35-yard shot just under the crossbar and into the netting for the 1-0 lead.
Thomson took over from there – heading home a cross from Paolo Georgiades in the 50th minute – with the duo connecting again in the 75th minute – converting a sliding attempt after a cross to the far post. He also assisted on the Saints third goal of the day, heading a punt from keeper Bernhardt Di Cino to the charging Jose Porras, who converted from 20-yards out.
The loss ended the Yotes (7-4, 4-3) three game win streak, as no C of I player had more than one shot on goal, with Di Cino stopping four attempts in the shutout win.
