GREAT FALLS, Mont. –
Ben Bechor slotted home a cross in the 75th minute for the lone goal of the match, as the College of Idaho ran their win streak to three with a 1-0 victory over the University of Providence at Argo Field.
The win for the Coyotes (7-3, 4-2 CCC) ended a four-match losing streak to the Argos – as senior
Grant Billings had three saves in notching the shutout.
UP (5-4, 4-3) had a chance in the opening 45 minutes, as George Holloway blasted a 20-yard shot off the left corner of the crossbar – and added a quality chance in the 64th minute, as Christopher Bisbo touched a 6-yard chance that Billings made a diving, fingertip stop to keep the game scoreless.
C of I countered 11 minutes later, as Guilherme Siqueria played a perfect cross from 25-yards out to the waiting foot of Bechor, who converted his fourth goal of the season.
The Yotes won despite UP holding a 15-12 edge in total shots, while C of I had a 9-4 edge in corner kicks.
After a day off on Saturday, C of I returns to action on Sunday with a match-up at Carroll College.
