ASHLAND, Ore. – Fourth-ranked Southern Oregon hit 16 3-point baskets, including three in an 18-6 run to end the first half, as the Raiders defeated the College of Idaho, 101-68, inside Mountain Avenue Gym.
SOU (17-1, 10-0 CCC) got 3's from Tiani Bradford, Casey Williams and Daranda Hinkey in the first three minutes to take a 9-2 lead, but the visiting Yotes were unfazed.
Madison Pilster scored 14 of her team-high 18 points in the opening period, and consecutive buckets from
Kiara Skinner cut the gap to 30-27 with six minutes left in the second quarter. Unfortunately, the Raiders responded, as a Sydney Mullins runner started the big run to give the hosts a 48-33 lead at the break.
The Raiders offense made 54-percent of their field goals in the second half to pull away for the win. Six SOU players scored in double figures, as Autumn Durand had 18 points and Mullins logged 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Skinner had 13 points off the bench for the Lady Yotes (6-10, 6-4), with
Alyssa Case scoring nine points, adding seven rebounds and five steals.
The Lady Yotes return to action next weekend with road games at Corban and Northwest Christian.
