PORTLAND, Oregon – The Yotes Men's Soccer, led by
Guilherme Siqueira and
Grant Billings, dominated Multnomah in a 4-0 road victory on Saturday.
The Yotes struck first in the match in the 20th minute after Siqueria's 18 yard shot reached the back of the net for his team leading sixth goal of the year.
Just moments later, off of a Siqueria corner,
Miguel Nunez' header brought home the second goal of the match in the 24th minute. The goal was Nunez's second in as many games and on the year.
The College of Idaho controlled the pace of play with 12 shots in the first half, compared to three for the Lions. The Yotes also led in corners (5-1) while the goalie for Multnomah, Manny Guillermo recorded six saves.
In the 58th minute,
Bekir Cinac put the Yotes in front 3-0 with his first goal of his collegiate career, off of a cross from
Cole Fuller, from eight yards out.
The final goal came again just minutes later as Siqueria dribbled past a diving goalie and shot left to right for his seven goal of the year.
The third clean sheet of the season, and second in a row, was a dual effort from
Grant Billings who played 70 minutes and recorded one save; while
Lucas MacMillan finished out the duty.
The Yotes outshot the Lions 19-4 on the day and tallied eight corners to the Lions' one. Multnomah saved shots in the match with the Yotes only needing one save.
The College of Idaho improved to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference action. They return to the pitch Friday at home against Carroll College. The Saints are 4-5 overall with a 2-2 record in CCC play.
