Lady Yotes Record Key 72-64 Win Over Warner Pacific

CALDWELL, Idaho – Ryleigh Swagerty scored a career-high 19 points helping the College of Idaho to their third win in four games, a 72-64 triumph over Warner Pacific inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The victory for the Lady Yotes (7-15, 6-10 CCC) vaulted the team into a tie for seventh-place in the CCC standings and improved the squad to 7-2 this season when scoring 70-or-more points in a game.

A 12-2 run, midway through the first quarter, including a Swagerty runner and a 3-pointer, erased a 6-2 Knights () lead. Swagerty and Haylee Burnham canned 3's, along with two Madison Pilster buckets fueled a 12-0 run to start the second period, as the hosts led 37-20 at halftime.

WP used a big third quarter, including three 3-pointers from Kendra Preuninger, to cut the margin to 53-45 late in the period.  However, a Burnham trey and two Pilster baskets quickly extended C of I's lead back to 60-45 and the hosts eased to the win.

Swagerty was 4-of-6 from outside the arc in the victory, with Pilster scoring 15 points with six rebounds, Burnham going 4-of-5 from distance for her 12 points and Jaycin Tini scoring nine points with a team-best nine rebounds.  C of I connected on a season-high 10 3-pointers in the win.

Preuninger led the Knights with 18 points, but the visitors could not overcome 17 turnovers and a 27-percent shooting first half.

The Lady Yotes close out their home schedule tomorrow night, hosting Multnomah at 5:30 p.m.  The game marks the final home contest for seven seniors – Burnham, Kellie Ross, Emily Rainboth, Ashleigh Blalock, Kylie Farwell, Brittany Wirth and Morgan Buhr.
