CALDWELL, Idaho -
Ian Williams scored six goals and
Nich Guzzetti added five goals of his own, as the College of Idaho lacrosse team opened the 2016 season with a dominating 23-4 victory over Puget Sound at Symms Field.
The Coyotes (1-0) scored 16-straight goals at one stretch, turning a 3-2 game into a lopsided rout. Â Back to back Guzzetti goals and a Williams unassisted strike with just 43 seconds left in the first quarter gave C of I a 7-2 edge.
C of I peppered the cage all afternoon, recording a commanding 65-18 edge in total shots, with goalie
V.J. Dahm recording 13 saves in the victory.
The Yotes hit the road for their next games - at Gonzaga and Pacific Lutheran - March 5 and 6.
