The Yotes (4-1, 3-1 CCC) used a 31-4 shot advantage, including a 19-2 edge in second half attempts, to break open a 3-2 game at the break.

C of I cracked the scoreboard just 77 seconds into the match, as Brandon Smith played a long ball over the Wolves (0-4, 0-4) defense, with Joe Bolin running onto the ball and beating WWU keeper Josh Fry to the bottom left corner of the net.

WWU answered in the ninth minute, as a foul in the box on a Marco Martinez run drew a penalty kick, with leading scorer Brook Fesler converting from the spot to tie the score.

The two teams traded goals midway through the period, as in the 13th minute Admir Selimovic was fouled in the C of I box, driving home the penalty kick to give the Yotes the lead.  The Wolves came right back, as Tyreek Luckett won a 50-50 ball in the C of I third, split two defenders and touched a shot past the charging Grant Billings to knot the score at 2-2.

The Yotes got the game winner in the 21st minute, as Andres Idoeta played a pretty through-ball to the top of the 18-yard box, finding the foot of Mehmed Selimovic, who blasted a one-timer through Fry for a 3-2 lead.

C of I rolled in the second half, extending the lead to 4-2 in the 55th minute, as Bolin made a long run down the right side, chipping the ball over the WWU defense inside the box, finding an unmarked Kyler Auernhamer, who slotted home his first collegiate goal.

Joao Cardoso scored his second of the season in the 62nd minute, roping a shot off a low cross from Smith off the bottom of the crossbar and across the line, while in the 84th minute, Tyrell Johnson slotted home an Auernhamer through ball to cap the scoring.

Billings and Lucas MacMillan shared time in goal for C of I, with MacMillan making the lone save of the night for the Yotes.

C of I returns to action on Sunday, hosting Multnomah at Noon.
