Bolin Records Hat Trick, Yotes Smash Sierra Nevada

CALDWELL, Idaho – Joe Bolin recorded his fourth career hat trick, helping the College of Idaho to their highest goal output since 2003, rolling to an 8-0 win over Sierra Nevada at Simplot Stadium.

Making their 2015 debut, the Yotes (1-0) held a commanding 27-1 edge in total shots, including 12 shots on frame, dominating the first-year program from Incline Village, Calif.  The eight goals scored by C of I were the most since a 9-2 win vs. Walla Walla on Oct. 14, 2003.

C of I opened the onslaught in the 13th minute, as Mehmed Selimovic played a corner into the middle of the 6-yard box, finding the head of his brother Admir Selimovic, who buried the try in the net.

Bolin got into the act in the 27th minute, as Mehmed Selimovic touched a pass to the senior into the area, driving a low drive into the right corner of the net.  Off the ensuing restart, Jorge Brambila intercepted an errant Eagles (1-2) pass and ripped a shot into the left corner of the net for a 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Bolin had a hand in three of C of I's four goals – making a long run down the left side for a score in the 51st minute; playing a pretty ball into the box for a Brandon Smith score in the 76th minute; then slotting home a Smith pass for a goal in the 82nd minute.

Grant Billings and Lucas MacMillan each played 45 minutes in goal to help in the shutout, with Billings making the lone save on the lone SNC shot on the day.

The Yotes return to action on Sept. 11, hosting Southern Oregon in their Cascade Conference opener.
