Coyotes Pick Up First-Ever Win over Southern Oregon

ASHLAND, Ore. – Rallying from a four-goal deficit in the third quarter, the College of Idaho lacrosse team stunned Southern Oregon, 13-12, in Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League action at Raider Stadium.

Midway through the third period, the Raiders (4-5, 2-1 PNCLL South) Ian Wilborn stole a C of I pass in their own end and scored, giving Southern a 10-6 edge.

The Yotes (4-2, 2-1) battled back – riding stellar defensive play from Brandon Helgeson and goalie V.J. Dahm, and goals from three different players in a 5-0 surge to take a 11-10 lead midway through the fourth period.  C of I held off a late man-advantage for the Raiders to pick up their first-ever win over their league rivals.

Ian Williams led C of I with four goals and one assist, with Nich Guzzetti adding three goals and one assist.  Dahm had 18 saves to earn the key win.

The Yotes close out the regular-season with four-straight home matches, beginning Saturday against Portland State.
