Coyotes Top Puget Sound in PNCLL Quarterfinals

TACOMA, Wash. – Jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter of play, the College of Idaho picked up their first ever postseason victory, cruising to a 16-6 win at Puget Sound in the quarterfinals of the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League Tournament.

With the win, the Yotes (8-3) advance to the semifinals, meeting the University of Portland next Saturday in Covington, Wash.

Dillon Green and Ian Williams each scored five goals to lead C of I, with V.J. Dahm making five saves and Madison Doumani adding four in the win.

Green had a pair of goals, along with a great assist to Brandon Helgeson, in the opening flurry.  Austin Mendiola and Nich Guzzetti added counters, with a Williams' unassisted goal capping the run.  Green added two second quarter goals, as C of I led 10-2 at the break and eased to the victory.

C of I will meet Portland at 10 a.m. at Tahoma High, with the second semifinal between Western Washington and Western Oregon to follow.  The two winners will meet next Sunday for the PNCLL crown.
