PORTLAND, Ore. – Five Warner Pacific players scored in double-figures with the Knights making 53-percent of their field goals, defeating the College of Idaho 77-61, inside C.C. Perry Gym.
The Knights (10-14, 3-9 CCC) made 10-of-19 3-point baskets in the victory, ending a six-game losing streak.
WP sprinted out of the gate; as Daesha Jackson hit a pair of treys in a 28-8 run start the contest. The Lady Yotes (6-16, 5-8) answered with a 13-2 run of their own – as Aleah Lowber hit two 3-pointers, Haylee Burnham canned a triple, and Alicia Jones recorded back-to-back buckets, getting C of I within 30-21.
The Knights regained a 50-35 lead early in the second half, but Elisha Hensey scored 11 of C of I's next 17 points, as the Yotes closed within 59-52 with seven minutes to play. However, back-to-back Brett Larson baskets and a Lorena Torres 3-pointer extended the lead back to 69-54, with WP closing out the win at the foul line.
Lindsay Loe had 19 points in the win, making 8-of-11 field goals. Kyeli Hendrix scored 13; Jackson was 3-of-3 from 3-point range, scoring 11; with Torres and Larson each scoring 10. The Knights won despite committing 20 turnovers.
Hensey and Lowber each scored 17 points, with Burnham adding 14. C of I made just 19-of-55 field goal attempts, including 5-of-24 shots from outside the arc.
The Lady Yotes return to action next Friday with a road matchup at No. 25 Eastern Oregon.
