Lady Yotes Stumble at Concordia, 71-46

PORTLAND, Ore. – Jordyn Peacock and McKenna Daly combined for 18 points and 29 rebounds, leading Concordia University to a 71-46 victory over the College of Idaho inside Cavalier Gym.

The pair of 6-foot, 3-inch forwards dominated the block for the Cavaliers (11-9, 5-6 CCC), as CU held an 18-9 edge in offensive rebounds and a 15-6 lead in second-chance points.

The Cavs used a 7-0 run to end the first half to take a 32-24 lead to the break, then got a pair of 3-pointers from Janae Klarich and seven-straight Sierra Dean points, part of a 14-2 run to start the second half to run away with the win.

Dean had 14 points, making 6-of-6 free throws in the victory, with Klarich going 4-of-7 from outside the arc, scoring 14 points with seven assists.  Peacock had 12 points and 15 rebounds, with Daly logging six points and 14 rebounds – with both posts recording two blocked shots.

The Lady Yotes (6-15, 5-7) sprinted to a 5-0 lead in the opening two minutes, but a 16-4 CU run gave the Cavs a 16-9 at the 13 minute mark.  C of I used a nine-point run of their own, including two Haylee Burnham baskets, to take their final lead of the game at 21-20.

Burnham led the Yotes with 14 points, the only C of I player in double figures.  Kellie Ross had seven points, with Elisha Hensey scoring six – as the visitors made just 32-percent of their field goal tries and had just nine free throw attempts in the loss.

The Lady Yotes return to action tomorrow, meeting Warner Pacific at 5:30 p.m.
