ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon opened the second half on a 37-10 run, sprinting to a 112-70 victory over the College of Idaho inside Riehm Arena.
The 112 points scored by the No. 15 ranked Raiders (12-1, 3-1 CCC) was the fourth time the Lady Yotes have allowed 100 points in a game – eclipsing the previous high-water mark of 110 points scored by Lewis-Clark State during the 2006-07 season.
Autumn Durand hit a pair of three-pointers in a 22-9 run to open the game, as SOU made 61-percent of their field goals in the period, including 7-of-10 shots from long range. The Lady Yotes (3-10, 2-2) whittled the margin to 47-41 on an Elisha Hensey trey with five minutes remaining in the half, with the hosts settling for a 59-49 edge at the break.
Kristen Schoenherr and Alexi Smith took over from there, as a Schoenherr jumper capping a 10-0 run to start the second period to push SOU's lead to 20, while back-to-back Smith baskets extended the margin to 96-59 with seven minutes left in the game.
Six Raiders scored in double-digits, with Schoenherr leading the way with 22 points. Smith had 17 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, with Courtney West coming off the bench for 16 points and nine rebounds. SOU held a commanding 55-28 edge in rebounds.
Hensey led C of I with 23 points, with Aleah Lowber scoring 12. Both Jamiece Yizar and Kellie Ross scored nine, with Alicia Jones recording a team-high five rebounds.
The Lady Yotes return to action on Dec. 29 with an exhibition game at Idaho State.
