PORTLAND, Ore. – Selena Warburton established two new NAIA "A" standards and two school records fell, as the College of Idaho remained perfect on the season with two dual meet wins inside the Zehntbauer Swim Pavilion.
The Lady Yotes (4-0) defeated both Division III foes in the triangular meet – stopping host Lewis & Clark College for the first time in eight attempts, 117-88, while crushing Mills College, 163-37.
Warburton recorded one of five individual victories by C of I, winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.76, easily hitting the auto qualifier. She also placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.38), hitting the "A" cut, while helping the 200-yard medley relay to a victory (1:57.34).
Freshman Quin McLaughlin also hit an "A" mark with a win in the 100-yard butterfly, breaking C of I's school record with a time of 1:00.54. Mckayla Stevens also had two wins, grabbing a victory in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.93), while setting a school record by seven seconds with her win in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:20.27).
Also hitting an "A" cut was junior Kirby Roberts with a victory in the 50-yard freestyle (25.65), joining McLaughlin, Stevens, and Allie Godfrey for a meet closing victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.50).
C of I returns to action on Saturday, competing in the five team Willamette Invitational.
