LEWISTON, Idaho – Opening the game on a 20-2 run, Lewis-Clark State rolled to a 92-70 victory over the College of Idaho in the late game of the Twin Rivers Physical Therapy Classic inside the LCSC Activity Center.
Tanis Fuller scored a game-high 16 points for the No. 15 ranked Warriors (6-1), as L-C made 52-percent of their field goals in the victory.
The Lady Yotes (0-5) inched their way back into the game, cutting the gap to 36-25 on a Brittany Wirth jumper late in the half, before the Warriors finished the period on a 10-2 run to lead by 19 at the break.
C of I got within 58-45 with 14 minutes to play on an Alicia Jones basket, but Caelyn Orlandi scored eight points in a 22-3 L-C run to break the game open.
Orlandi, McKenzie Heaslet, and Kyndahl Ulmer each scored 13 points in the win for the Warriors, forcing 17 turnovers and holding a commanding 20-5 edge in free throws made.
Freshman Kilee Jafek led the Lady Yotes with a career high 15 points – one of five players in double-figures. Wirth had 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench; Haylee Burnham and Jones each scored 11; with Alicia Hensey adding 10 points and six assists.
C of I closes out tournament play tomorrow with a 3:30 p.m. match-up against New Hope Christian.
