Bolin Delivers Overtime Winner at Warner Pacific

PORTLAND, Ore. – Joe Bolin slotted home the game-winner in the 106th minute, as the College of Idaho won at Warner Pacific for the first time since 2010, topping the Knights, 3-2.

Playing a man down in the second overtime, the Coyotes (7-9, 4-8 CCC) played a ball to Tyler Lawton down the middle of the field touching a pass to Bolin at the left side of the box.  The Yotes leading scorer made a quick move to his left, and then unleashed a low drive into the right corner of the netting for the winning goal.

The win for C of I was their first in the Rose City since a 2-1 victory over the Knights (5-8-3, 4-7-1) in the regular-season finale in 2010.

The Yotes struck first in the sixth minute, as Bolin played a nifty ball across the six-yard box, catching the foot of a sliding Riley Smith, who slotted home the early tally.

WP would answer in the 20th minute, as leading scorer Mario Guizar took a long ball from Geovanny Vasquez, paused in the box, and unleashed a 12-yard blast into the net.

Early in the second half, the Knights grabbed a 2-1 lead after a C of I hand ball in the box allowed Joe White to bury a penalty kick.  However, the Coyotes took advantage of a hand ball along the goal line in the 78th minute, with Lawton driving a low shot from the spot to square the match at 2-2.

The Knights would have a pair of chances in the second overtime after C of I's Joao Cardoso was sent off the pitch after his second yellow card, but the Yotes were able to clear both corner kick opportunities.

C of I held a 15-11 edge in total shots and a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.  John French made four saves to pick up the win for the Yotes.

The Coyotes close out their road schedule tomorrow with a 4 p.m. kick at Concordia.
