BILLINGS, Mont. – Whitney Mitchell scored a game-high 19 points, as Rocky Mountain College used a big early run to take control of the game, cruising past the College of Idaho, 80-51, inside the Fortin Center.
The Bears (3-0) got back-to-back three-pointers from Jayde Levevre in a 14-2 run to open the game, extending the lead to 30-13 on a Tenike Capouch basket midway through the half.
C of I (0-2) got five quick points from Morgan Buhr and a lay-up from Alicia Jones to cut the deficit to 41-32 late in the period, but Mitchell hit a three as RMC scored the final six points of the half.
The Yotes went ice cold from the field to start the second half, making just one field goal over the first 10 minutes, as Rocky opened the half on a 16-3 run to put the game away.
Mitchell added a game-high 10 assists and three steals in the win, with Levevre recording 12 points and eight rebounds, and Capouch scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 boards.
Aleah Lowber led C of I with 15 points, with Elisha Hensey scoring 13 and Jones 10. The Yotes were just 5-of-32 from outside the arc in the loss.
C of I returns to action next weekend with a pair of games at the Westminster Fall Classic in Salt Lake City.
