OLYMPIA, Wash. - An early goal in the first half was all the Evergreen State College needed, as the Geoducks completed a season sweep of the College of Idaho, winning 1-0 on CRC Field No. 3.
Tanner Williams made a long run for the Geoducks (3-4-1, 3-1-1) down the right side in the 15th minute, rifling a shot past C of I keeper Grant Billings for the lone goal of the match.
The Yotes (5-4, 2-3) had two shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes, but Angel Guerra stopped both shots.
C of I had the control of the pitch early in the second half, but subsequent yellow cards to Andres Idoeta forced the Coyotes to play a man down for the final 28 minutes - with Evergreen holding a 9-1 edge in shots the rest of the way, with the Yotes lone chance a Joao Cardoso free kick that was stopped by Guerra in the 65th minute.
The Coyotes return to action tomorrow, traveling to Northwest University for a 3 p.m. (PDT) start.
