Lady Yotes Close Out Road Trip at Puget Sound

TACOMA, Wash. - Mckayla Stevens broke the school record in the 200-meter individual medley and Lady Yote swimmers won a trio of events, as The College of Idaho closed out their opening road trip at the University of Puget Sound.

The host Loggers rolled to the team win, 131-74, behind two wins from Anne Shirey in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter breaststroke.

Stevens earned the victory in the IM with a time of 2:34.62 on the 25-meter course, but her time when converted to yards was a half-second faster than the previous best, recorded last season by Chrissie Younggren.

Freshman Alexis Medelez picked up a victory in the 100-meter butterfly (1:10.43) with Madi Sato earning a victory in the 400-meter freestyle (5:00.48).

The Lady Yotes 200-meter freestyle relay team of Stevens, Taylor Baker, Kirby Roberts, and Selena Warburton hit the NAIA "A" standard with a second-place finish (1:59.84).

The Lady Yotes return to action in two weeks at the Mills College Invitational.
