MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The College of Idaho women’s swim team set a new school record for dual meet wins in a season, splitting a pair of duals this evening at the Linfield Triangular, inside the Linfield Aquatic Center.

The Lady Yotes earned a 77-26 victory over Mills College for their fourth victory of the season, but lost a 64-38 decision to host Linfield. The 2010-11 C of I team won three dual meets to establish the previous school record.
After missing the Northwest Invitational, freshman Logan Gomez return with a stellar night – winning the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.42) by less than four-tenths of a second over the Wildcats’ Cat Nakamura, while placing second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.93).
Selena Warburton recorded the Yotes other victory, crushing the field in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.42), while anchoring the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed second, recording the fourth-fastest time in program history, clocking a season-best time of 1:46.87.
Four other Lady Yotes earned second-place finishes – Allie Godfrey in the 50-yard freestyle (27.83), Chrissie Younggren in the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.93), Kirby Roberts in the 100-yard freestyle (58.64), and Madeleine Sato in the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.81).
Linfield claimed seven individual crowns, with Nikki Overton winning both the 100 and 1,000-yard freestyle events to win their duals with the Yotes and Mills. The Cyclones had only one top-three finish, as Emily Gott took second in the 100-yard butterfly.
The C of I returns to action with three dual meets in January – at Pacific, Willamette, and Whitworth.
