AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Morgan joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2020-2021 season. In the 2022-23 season, en route to leading College of Idaho to a national championship, he helped lead the Yotes on a school record 36-game winning streak and set other program records for wins (36), points scored (3,192), field goals made (1,195), field goals attempted (2,395), scoring margin (22.6), and tied the school record for scoring defense (63.3 ppg). The 36 wins are the most of any other college basketball in the state of Idaho history. The efforts of the national championship were followed up with a regular season CCC title in the 2023-24 season and reaching the Fab Four in the NAIA Championships.
PRIOR TO C OF I: Morgan spent three seasons at Division II Western Oregon, serving one year as a player development coach and two seasons as a graduate assistant; helped his team to the 2018 Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship and trip to the West Regional final, while the 2019 team reached the regional quarterfinals.
C OF I PLAYING CAREER: Was a 4-year member of the Coyotes, currently holding the career games played record (134); earned All-Cascade Conference twice and CCC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2017; helped C of I to CCC regular-season and tournament titles in 2014 and 2015, making NAIA Tournament appearances in 2014, 2015 and 2017; set a single-game school record with 17 assists against Walla Walla in 2017. He finished second place in career assists.
PERSONAL: Morgan was a high school standout basketball player for Churchill High School where he is the all-time leader in steals. He earned conference player of the year, conference defensive player of the year, and first team all-state. The Eugene, Ore., native earned a bachelor degree at the C of I in 2017 majoring in health & human performance while minoring in coaching, psychology, and religious studies. While a grad assistant, he earned his master's MSED in Information Technology at Western Oregon in 2020. Morgan and his wife, Anna live in nearby Nampa. Morgan is married to his wife Anna.
