AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Matt Strong joined the College of Idaho coaching staff in 2013 as an assistant coach. Strong assisted during the 2013 "zero year" program, while serving as the defensive line coach in 2014, the linebackers during the 2015 season, the secondary in 2016 and 2017, and working with the running backs in 2018.
PRIOR TO C OF I: Served as the vice principal at Canyon Springs High in Caldwell, while serving as head football coach at Caldwell High from 2002-07, advancing to the state playoffs on three occasions. Â He also was the head coach at Skyview High for four seasons, compiling a 31-10 record and three state appearances. Strong began his coaching career at Weiser High from 1996-99, winning the 1997 state title.Â
PERSONAL: Strong played football at Eastern Oregon University, receiving his degree in Physical Education and Health, while recently earning his Masters in Education. He and wife Moss have three children and live in Caldwell.
