AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Schafer is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Coyote football program and has worked with the defensive backs and linebackers.

BEFORE C OF I: Prior to joining the Coyote staff, was a prep coach in the Treasure Valley from 2013 -2019 - serving as an assistant at Boise High, as well as coaching as a guest coach for Boise State from 2014 to present.

PERSONAL: Schafer graduated of Boise High (1998) and attended Boise State; joined the United States Army in 2001 where he served in Iraq 2006-2007 earning a purple heart.  He and wife Kristen have two children, Devin and Gabrielle.
