AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Choate is in his sixth season as an assistant coach with the Coyote football program and will work with the defensive ends and serve as special teams coach in 2020. Worked with the linebackers during the 2016-18 seasons and with the defensive line in 2019. Has coached five All-Frontier Conference selections, including All-America kicker Kyle Mitchell.
BEFORE C OF I: Prior to joining the Coyote staff, was a prep coach in the Treasure Valley from 1998-2015 - serving as an assistant at Boise High (1998-99), defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Caldwell High (2000-07), defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Meridian High (2008-11) and head coach at Nampa High (2012-15).
PERSONAL: A native of St. Maries, he is a 1994 graduate of St. Maries High and was a 2000 graduate of Boise State; he and wife KayCee have two children, McKartney and Harper.
