At College of Idaho: Jakin Richerson joined the coaching staff in 2026, making it his first collegiate coaching experience. He is currently working on the defensive side of the ball as an assistant Linebackers coach.

Prior to College of Idaho: Prior to joining the Yotes, Richerson gained valuable coaching experience at the high school level. In 2023, Richerson joined the coaching staff for Colfax High School in Colfax Washington, where he led the JV program to three winning seasons, including an undefeated season in 2025. 

Personal: Richerson was born in Kijabe, Kenya before he and his family moved to Woodland, California where he graduated high school in 2019 at Woodland Christian School. He then attended the University of Idaho and graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture, and began working at Design West in Pullman soon after. He currently works at Design West in Meridian while not coaching. He and his wife Jenna live in Meridian.
