Biography

2021-22: Played in all 28 games, starting the final 13…averaged 24.4 minutes, 6.1 points, 3.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game…led the team with 87 assists and third in steals (23)…against conference teams, she averaged 6.5 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game…scored in double figures in seven games including five of the last six games…on three occasions, she scored 14 points…twice, she had six rebounds in a game (Bushnell – Jan. 29; Evergreen – Feb. 12)…had nine contests with at least four assists, including a season-high seven assist game against Corban (Jan. 28)...also had four steals against the Warriors in 35 minutes of action.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2021 graduate of Timberlake High School; helped lead the program to back-to-back state championships during her junior and senior seasons; named a first-team All-State selection as a senior after averaging 12.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.8 steals per game; named the 3A State Player of the Year as a junior, averaging 16.8 points and 3.9 assists per game to go along with a school-record 61 made 3-pointers; set the Timberlake program record for 3-pointers made in a career.

PERSONAL: 

Joining the Yote Fam from Athol, Idaho, Taryn was raised by Rob and Jamie Soumas. Aside from her efforts on the court, Taryn is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a degree in Accounting. She chose the College of Idaho because of its atmosphere and the people.
