Biography

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Shirts is in her fifth season with the Coyote cross country and track programs; is a 4-time NAIA All-American.

3k(XC): 10:34.8- EOU Dual in The Dirt (Nov. 6, 2020)
4k (XC): 14:03.5- CCC Preview Meet (Sep. 15, 2023)
5K(XC): 17:20.2-48th Charles Bowles Willamette XC Invitational (Sep. 30, 2023)
6K(XC): 21:08.4 - Blazing Tiger (Oct. 21, 2023)

2023 (Cross Country): Had a phenomenal season, earning lifetime bests across the board. She earned a personal best and third  place finish in the CCC Preview Meet 4k as well as second  place and lifetime best of 17:20.2 in the 5K at Charles Bowles Willamette XC Invitational. She achieved all conference titles at the CCC Championships for her third  place finish and an All- American title at the NAIA National Championship with a fifth place finish. Abbey received the leadership award for the 2023 cross country season.
 

2023: Academic All-Conference
2022 (Cross Country):
Named for the All-Academic CCC Team and named to the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team.

2020-21: In track, earned All-America honors indoors in the 1,000-meters (2:57.65) and as a part of the 4x800-meter relay team, while outdoors, earned All-America honors as part of the 4x800-meter relay team and earned All-Cascade Conference honors with third-place finishes at the CCC Championships in the 800-meters (2:17.43) and the 1,500-meters (4:39.58); in cross country, had three Top-5 finishes on the year, while earning All-CCC honors with an 11th-place finish at the CCC Championships...placed 42nd overall at the NAIA Championships...top 5,000-meter time of 18:01; named to the CCC All-Academic Team, a NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 selection in both sports.

2019-20: In track, earned All-America honors in the distance medley relay, helping C of I place seventh overall at the NAIA Indoor National Championships; also competed at Nationals in the 4x800-meter relay; had top times of 1:42.87 in the 600-meters and 3:07.58 in the 1,000-meters. In cross country, placed 23rd overall at the Cascade Conference Championships and 76th at the NAIA National Championships, helping C of I to the CCC title and a second-place finish at the NAIA Championships; had a top 8,000-meter time of 18:46 at the Warrior Invite.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2019 graduate of Weiser High, where she won the 3A District III cross country championship as a senior, taking third at the 3A state championships with a top 5,000-meter time of 19:15; in track, placed second at the 3A state championships in the 200-meters (26.45) and third in both the 400-meters (59.16) and the pole vault (10-feet).
