Quinton Earns USTFCCCA NAIA National Athlete of the Week Honors

CALDWELL, Idaho – After a dominant performance, The College of Idaho's Kylee Quinton has been named the USTFCCCA NAIA National Athlete of the Week, recognizing her as one of the top performers in collegiate cross-country competition across all levels of the sport.

Quinton earned the honor following a commanding victory at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational on Sept. 19. The Yote standout captured the women's 6,000-meter title with a winning time of 22:04.4, finishing 14.7 seconds ahead of runner-up Hazel Kunkel of Northwest Nazarene.

Running at the front of the pack from the outset, Quinton separated herself from the field and crossed the finish line nearly 15 seconds clear of the nearest competitor. Her performance helped lead a strong showing for The College of Idaho and earned national recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.

The USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week award honors outstanding performances from collegiate cross-country athletes throughout the country, spanning all competitive levels of the sport.

Quinton's victory continues an impressive start to the season for the Yotes, who are looking to build momentum heading into their next major competition.

The College of Idaho returns to action on Oct. 3 at the Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore., one of the Northwest's premier cross country meets.
