LOGAN, Utah - The No. 3 Yotes met the No. 4 Air Force Academy in Logan, Utah to mark the third time this year that The College of Idaho would take on a foe in the top 10. Despite matching the Falcons in the first quarter, the Yotes would suffer their first loss of the season 13-10.
The battle between two top programs started dramatically with Air Force striking first. The Yotes evened it up to end the quarter 2-2. The second quarter saw eight goals between the two squads with the Falcons jumping to a 7-5 advantage into the half. Air Force then soared in the third by putting five goals past the Yotes while the C of I offense only managed one goal.
C of I rallied in the fourth quarter. The defense locked down and only allowed a single goal. The offense found its rhythm and scored four goals to trim the deficit to just three. As the final buzzer sounded, the Yotes came up just short.
Despite the result, several Yotes had strong outings.
Grayson Flatten and
Logan Bjornethun both contributed three goals and assists.
Colin Lantz scored a pair of goals. Both
Trevor Shoopman and
Henry Harris added a goal.
Brogan Rice made 18 saves in the game.
