LOGAN, Utah – Coming off their first defeat of the season, The College of Idaho rebounded with a 11-3 dismantling of Utah State Univ. The Yotes scored six goals in the first quarter and did not allow a single goal in the first half. C of I ended it's regular season with an impressive 11-1 record.
Brogan Rice once again anchored the tenacious defense. He made 20 saves on the day to have a 87% save rate. Defender
Noah Nienhouse co-led the Yotes with three groundballs and also caused two turnovers. Nienhouse snuck his way to the offensive side of the field and scored his first career goal.
Chris Niemann was also a rock defensively and grabbed three groundballs.
The midfield held strong with Zachary Shoopman,
Tyler Buckley, and
Noah Geise all picking up three groundballs. Defensive midfielder Buckley also found himself on the goal scoring sheet with his lone goal of the game.
Wyatt Neu and
Colin Lantz both scored a pair of goals. Neu caused two turnovers.
On the attack,
Trevor Shoopman and
Finn Simon scored a brace.
Trevor Shoopman also added a game high three assists and collected three groundballs.
With the regular season concluded, the Yotes look forward to the PNCLL tournament starting on April 25
th where they will face Western Washington University.
