Yotes Swing Momentum To Win Two

CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho closed its four-game Cascade Collegiate Conference home series in emphatic fashion Sunday, sweeping Warner Pacific with 5–3 and 7–6 victories at Wolfe Field. The wins capped a dominant home stand for the Yotes, who have now won 20 games on the season and head into their toughest road test yet with momentum.

After dropping both games of Saturday's doubleheader, Warner Pacific pushed the Yotes deep into both contests again Sunday, but The College of Idaho answered every challenge with late-inning execution, shutdown pitching and timely power.

Game 3: The College of Idaho 5, Warner Pacific 3
The Yotes set the tone early with single runs in each of the first three innings. Cody Guy opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first before Jace Mahlke delivered a sacrifice fly in the third to extend the lead. James Hull anchored the offense with a two-hit, three-RBI performance, including the go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth that broke a 3–3 tie, igniting the dugout and the Wolfe Field crowd.

On the mound, Zaylor Bruegeman was steady across six innings, scattering six hits and striking out five while keeping Warner Pacific off balance. Kayden Sandow closed the final three frames, allowing only one run to secure his first win of the season. Both teams finished with eight hits, but the Yotes out-executed their counterparts when it mattered, particularly with Hull's late-inning heroics.

Warner Pacific saw several strong individual efforts.Trenten Lowe provided consistent pressure at the plate, finishing with two hits and reaching base three times while also contributing defensively at third. Cesar Rodriguez delivered the Knights' biggest swing of the game with a solo home run in the fourth, cutting the deficit and giving Warner Pacific a late spark. Anthony Zisa added an RBI single in the eighth to tie the game briefly, continuing his ability to come through in key moments.

Game 4: The College of Idaho 7, Warner Pacific 6
The finale turned into an offensive whirlwind, highlighted by a six-run fifth inning that flipped the game and propelled the Yotes to their 20th win. Trailing 2–1 entering the inning, The College of Idaho erupted with eight consecutive baserunners, starting with Darren Smith's RBI double and Corbin Sterner's RBI double. Logan Dreher and Bryce Mahlke followed with RBI singles before Cody Guy capped the rally with a two-run single to make it 7–2.

Warner Pacific clawed back with three runs in the seventh and added another in the ninth on a sacrifice fly, but Teagan Kinney shut the door to earn the save. Jack Ryan picked up the win after tossing 5.2 innings, allowing only two earned runs while striking out five. The Yotes out-hit the Knights 11–8, with five players posting multi-RBI or multi-hit performances in one of their most balanced offensive efforts of the season.

In the series finale, Warner Pacific's offense again showcased its power and resilience. Trenten Lowe was a force, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three runs scored. Donny Tober continued his productive weekend, driving in two runs with a key RBI double in the seventh and later scoring on a misplay to pull the Knights within striking range. Cesar Rodriguez remained a consistent threat with an RBI single in the second, and Collin Schiller added two hits, including a key double in the seventh-inning rally.

The Yotes now turn their focus to a highly anticipated road matchup as they travel to face No. 7 Lewis-Clark State College on March 27 at 2:00 p.m. MT.
