SALEM, Ore. - A few hours after securing a historic win at George Fox, the College of Idaho stayed red-hot Friday, powering past Willamette 6-1 to complete a perfect 2-0 day on its Oregon road trip.
The Yotes set the tone early with a doubles sweep. Hristina Ljuba and Nicole Tran pulled out a tight 7-5 win at No. 1, while Alyssa Johnson and Berkley Klarich rolled 6-2 at No. 2. Kinsey Lockhart and Kylie Barrus finished the job with a 6-4 decision on court three.
In singles, Ljuba battled past Alexa de Crinis in a gritty 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 comeback at the top spot. The middle of the lineup delivered emphatically as Lina Boylan and Adele Long posted back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 wins, and Lockhart and Johnson added straight-set victories to push the lead to 6-0. Willamette grabbed its lone point with a tight three-set win at No. 6.
The victory capped a dominant day for College of Idaho, which left Salem with its momentum surging after sweeping both stops of Friday's doubleheader.
