CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced that
Kylie Waltermeyer and
Riley Beck earned McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network. Waltermeyer earned the CCC offensive player of the week and Beck earned the CCC defensive player of the week. The pair of Yotes played a critical role in securing sweeps against (RV) Oregon Tech and (RV) Southern Oregon for the first time since 2011-12.
Waltermeyer had a weekend to remember in scoring 20 points both nights to average 21.5 ppg. The junior guard had a career high 23 points against Oregon Tech while shooting 80% from the field and 85% beyond the arc on the night. Through the weekend, Waltermeyer shot 65.2% from the field and 66.7% from three. She also contributed 3 block and 13 rebounds in the weekend.
Beck also had an incredible weekend. She grabbed 4 steals and 4 blocks over the two nights. The freshman forward was active on the glass and picked up 12 rebounds. She also contributed 18 points on the weekend.
With a 21 win regular season in the book Waltermeyer, Beck, and the rest of the Yotes look to make a splash in the conference tournament as they face Oregon Tech on February 27th at 8pm MT. The game will be played at host Corban University or can be streamed for free on the Urban Edge Network.
